Here’s the sets for this weeekend’s radio shows on Radio Frontline and Jungletrain.net.
The darkside one I played Saturday night was fun – I got a lot of my favorite lesser known / obscure jams in plus some big hits too. Thanks to friends and regulars who locked in (off the top of my head – Recoil, Hughesee, Nick/FX, Simon, Ryan, etc), plus the new listeners who braved the extra grimey and dirty tunes. Also, thanks to Trilogy Tapes for RT’ing the show notice on twitter (almost no one ever does that!), though I’m pretty sure a combination of the dark tunes and loose mixing scared away any potential converts 🙂
No tracklist for this one yet, maybe later but I didn’t keep the records in order. Also, I was giving out ID’s live in the chat as people asked.
Tim’s set Sunday night was wicked, lots of AWESOME tunes including quite a few from the blog (click through to check them in the TL below). JT Chat was a great chance to catch up w/ people and talk garbage without worrying about records getting out of time. The last tune kind of sums up my favorite stuff on this blog – easily available but “hidden in plain site” jams which anyone can pick up if they dig for em. Big up Tim for the set, hope everyone enjoys these as much as I do 🙂

The tracklisting on Tim’s set is excellent – some of my favourite tunes from that era right there. One of the real under-rated tunes for me is Mad Dog – My God. I know it was played a little bit by jocks like Top Buzz and Randall but it’s never got the respect it’s deserved. The sub bass is immense and particularly effective in the breakdown, underneath the piano sample. OMG indeed!
Tim sounds like he’s trapped in a well in Hogwarts.
