Here’s a tasty early hardcore track from the underrated Mutant Records label. Combining the KC and the Sunshine Gang “Let it Go” break (used most popularly in Zero B – Lock Up) with electro bleeps, this tune shows the stripped down earlier sound of hardcore, before bedroom producers started layering up a million mad breaks and samples at a frenzied pace. Because of its stripped down nature, “Drone” is probably better suited for mixing than home listening, but at 3 1/2 minutes it gets in and out before getting even slightly boring.
