Blogtotheoldskool.com live stream moving to jungletrain.net

Good news for those of you who check the occasional blogtotheoldskool ustream… it’s going to be moving to jungletrain.net, still every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, 7-9:30pm EST (that’s midnight to 2:30am UK time). This means it’ll be an audio stream instead of a video one, and there will hopefully be quite a few advantages to doing it there:

  • Better quality audio
  • No ads every few minutes (!!)
  • Much nicer chat (no more link hiding or swearword censoring
  • Built in base of listeners who like jungle/dnb
  • Cool DJs with oldskool shows already on the station – Havoc + N-Flow, Dave Trax, etc
  • I’m also going to probably change the format some more – in the past I’ve tried to play stuff specifically not on the blog that I may post soon, to gauge response and also give people who tune in a chance to hear it before people who don’t tune in. This also included some stuff I can’t post since it’s digitally for sale (eg tracks on sub base), and secret weapon records I don’t want to give away but don’t mind telling a handful of people about. I’ll definitely continue doing this to an extent (esp. with the secret favorite stuff), but will be trying to play a lot more of the 500+ tracks I’ve posted on the blog so far, ID’ing them during play, so anything that sounds good to people can be easily downloaded. I figure that might be a nice way to traverse the blog content rather than having to sit there clicking “play” over and over. If anyone has other suggestions feel free to drop me an email, thanks to Anthony Imaginary Forces/Hardcore Phonography for the suggestions so far!

    1. Will the streams be downloadable post-broadcast? For some of us staying up on Wednesday nights is simply not an option.
