Blogtotheoldskool.com live stream moving to jungletrain.net

Monday, February 20th, 2012

Good news for those of you who check the occasional blogtotheoldskool ustream… it’s going to be moving to jungletrain.net, still every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, 7-9:30pm EST (that’s midnight to 2:30am UK time). This means it’ll be an audio stream instead of a video one, and there will hopefully be quite a few advantages to doing it there:

  • Better quality audio
  • No ads every few minutes (!!)
  • Much nicer chat (no more link hiding or swearword censoring
  • Built in base of listeners who like jungle/dnb
  • Cool DJs with oldskool shows already on the station – Havoc + N-Flow, Dave Trax, etc
  • I’m also going to probably change the format some more – in the past I’ve tried to play stuff specifically not on the blog that I may post soon, to gauge response and also give people who tune in a chance to hear it before people who don’t tune in. This also included some stuff I can’t post since it’s digitally for sale (eg tracks on sub base), and secret weapon records I don’t want to give away but don’t mind telling a handful of people about. I’ll definitely continue doing this to an extent (esp. with the secret favorite stuff), but will be trying to play a lot more of the 500+ tracks I’ve posted on the blog so far, ID’ing them during play, so anything that sounds good to people can be easily downloaded. I figure that might be a nice way to traverse the blog content rather than having to sit there clicking “play” over and over. If anyone has other suggestions feel free to drop me an email, thanks to Anthony Imaginary Forces/Hardcore Phonography for the suggestions so far!

Anyone having trouble loading the site?

    Thursday, October 1st, 2009

I’ve been having some trouble with my Hosting Company lately… it’s my fault for going with a notoriously not-so-great hosting company simply because they were the biggest/easiest option and one of the original people who agreed to write for this site worked for them (ironically that person never even ended up writing anything for this site). My latest issue is that I’m seeing lots of page requests time out when I work on the site from home. However, when I run tests through a proxy I do not see these problems, so it could just be my local connection. If anyone is seeing timeout issues/ pages here taking more than a second or 2 to load, please leave a comment under this.

    new header: y/n?

    Thursday, January 29th, 2009

I dunno, it kind of sucks and makes this look like a trance blog, but I got sick of looking at the default wordpress header. If anyone has a better pic they think I should base the header off of, send it over…

    Welcome DSP!

    Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Up until now,all posts on this blog (barring one by Will Sublogic) have been by me, Pete. That’s about to change – there’s a new author on this blog. On top of having an excellent collection (I’ve bought tunes off him before) and deep knowledge, DSP also makes wicked jungle tracks himself.

    Dissapearing Comments?

    Monday, January 12th, 2009

So, I saw a comment today, and then I checked the site later and I didn’t see it. I don’t know if WordPress messed up, the original poster deleted it, or if I accidentally deleted it. To the original comment-writer: sorry, pls post again. If anyone is having trouble posting comments, let me know at

I’ve migrated the blog over to its own website, and have changed all photobucket/rapidshare links to be properly hosted. Let me know if you find any broken links.
