House of Windsor – Squidgy (System Mix)

Here’s a track I overlooked for quite a while, until getting it stuck in my head from some pirate radio tape. It seems like this was basically a novelty hardcore record, based on a 1992 scandal involving some taped conversations between Princess Diana and a friend (referred to as Squidgygate). Some of the other mixes of this tune contain extended sections of dialogue from the aforementioned tape. Kind of a ridiculous concept for a track, but the melody, structure, original vocals, etc. are all good here, and this mix keeps most the novelty stuff out. Plus it’s got that same 3 phase sample I mentioned in a recent posting!
