I posted that DBL productions track recently, but here’s another gem from Parliament Music. Like Bogwoppa records, Parliament Music specialized in super-gritty tracks with plenty of chopped samples, with a focus on more “out there” / interesting stuff rather than simple corny anthems.
This track is probably the strongest on the EP… there’s vocal samples by MC Duke, Baby D, an intro which reminds me of Mystery Man “DJ Business”, and a synth sample from probably my favorite house track ever, Mr. Monday – Future . If anyone recognizes the origin of the drum break in this tune, please leave a comment below… I know that I’ve heard this particular cut up break pattern in a number of other tracks.

Splice & Syko – Twilight zone (50/50 mix)

Hello just thought i would let you know i had a issue with your blog coming up blank as well. Must be monkeys in the page.
Weird, do you remember when it happened? Sorry about that, I’ve been experiencing some site issues lately – 503s etc. If anyone can suggest a really reliable and relatively cheap host (w/ unlimited bandwidth/storage space), I think I’m getting close to dumping my current company.
