Though supposedly from 92, this Elektron EP has the whole 90-91 bleeps-and-bass thing down pretty well. I first got it 8 years ago or so in a little batch of white labels for a pound a piece – some of the other ones ended up being a bit rarer (eg Stu-J – Gadget), but even without being rare this was a nice find. The label which it’s on, Pure Bass, did a number of releases like this and was a sublabel of Warrior Records / Warriors Dance, sort of pre-hardcore labels which ended up putting out a few decent hardcore tunes as well. Definitely one for fans of slower 90-91 type more technoey tunes.

Great that you posted this ! I’ve had this since 92 and still play it .. Such a great swing on it and never really heard anybody else play it or knew anyone else who knew about it .
