EQ – Ghetto Boys

Sorry I’ve been slacking on the posts…been busy working on a crazy new mix. I’m aiming to make it up this week with at least 4 tunes being posted between now and Sunday… already got them ripped, just need to queue them up!
Today’s track is a pretty well known one which I believe used to go for a fair bit more than it doesnow. “Ghetto Boys” might not be quite as anthemy as EQ’s other EP on FX Drop the Bass, but it’s still a really fun hardcore track with all the must-haves (hiphop vocal cut, catchy rave stabs, solid breaks). In fact, I’m sure there’s more than a few people for whom “drop the bass” is a bit too hands-in-the-air where this track is preferable.
As for the artist behind it, I always assumed this EP and “Drop the Bass” were by Mark Yorath of Formation Records… but it now looks like Discogs is saying it’s actually some other guy who did quite a bit of early 91-92 slightly more techno/rave/hardcorey stuff on Kinetix, including this doozey of a record which I previously posted here.
