Chemical Vacation – Real Style

Looks like I’m up to post 499 on here… not sure what I can post up for that 500th one to make it special?? If any current or former hardcore/jungle/dnb producers have an unreleased tune from the 1991-95 era kicking around which they wouldn’t mind seeing made an exclusive, feel free to drop me a line 🙂 Otherwise I might try to find something really obscure to post… either way, I’m definitely going to take my time posting just the right thing.

In the meantime, here’s a solid lead-up single. Most of the DJ KP singles seem to have gotten increasingly rare over the past few years – this is the easiest to find of the three, a split release with Chemical Vacation. This track, along with the other DJ KP ones and much of the Vicious Pumpin Plastic catalog, were featured on the various Strictly Underground/Strictly Hardcore comps. It’s pretty hard to choose which side of this EP to post as both are great and totally spinnable, but this one is a bit more sampleadelic and has some pretty crazy piano stuff about two minutes in, along with classic vocals from Erik B & Rakim “I know you got soul” plus a little snippet which I think is sampled from Sub Love “And Then More”.

  1. One of the first records i bought back in 90’s.Think i got it for £6 back then. Be good if someone with a test press of LTJ Bukem – Atmospheric Jubilancy would get in touch for post 500!That would be a good post as it’s such a rare tune due good looking records not releasing the limited press that they were going to do.
