Dem 2 Ruff – Nice Tune

Here’s a nice 94 jungle track w/ great ragga vocal bits and a nice slowjam melody. It’s actually been repressed so it shouldn’t be too hard to find on wax, even the original doesn’t seem to go for too much. The artists behind it are still around and still releasing DNB, so check their site for current tunes including a remix of this track.

  1. Ooh, never seeen this with a label before. I remember getting this when it came out on a white with nothing written on it but “Nice Tune” and rumours circulating at the time about them getting into trouble because of the Toni Braxton sample. You should up the other side of this though, great track and somewhat overlooked. Not sure what it is called but we used to call it the “Cool Runnings Tune” because of the vox samp.

  2. yeah mine is a plain white label as well, honestly I’m not sure if the original had any label, the above pic is of a repress but there didn’t seem much point in uploading ap icture of a totally plain white record label 🙂

Is the B side the track with the “yes mannnnn” timestretched and guitars in bits? Want to make sure I in fact have the original and not the later version with the 96 repress… my catalog # is DRM 2 RUFF as discogs says for the original, but I’ve run into at least one instance where a copy of a later repress had identical catalog # to the original press.

  3. This track appears on the Jungle Warfare label, Vol 13 to be specific. I have the record and it says the artist is “unknown” and the track is titled “Thinking about you” If you look it up on discogs though, they identify the artist as “Midas” hmmm….

  4. Pete, that sounds like the one I have. When I first got it I used to rinse the Nice Tune side as that was what was played on the pirates all the time, but then I grew to love the b+side a lot more. “Yes Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!”
