I just had a pretty rough night Saturday; finding this record on Sunday almost made up for it. “Happiness” is a dead-simple piano stormer, something which doesn’t share ANY of the characteristics which initially drew me to oldschool (those being the chopped and layered beats, crazy sample usage, etc). Instead, this track is just a simple, catchy melodic piano and vocal lead track: happy but not over-the-top, more “uplifting” than “euphoric”. The logo artwork looks similar to other Boogie Times releases, leading me to believe that it’s by Dave Nodz.
Unlike most tracks I post, this record DOES go for a fair bit of cash… keep looking though and you may eventually find it on the cheap like I did 🙂
