Freestyle & DJR – Madness

Another essential track from the 92-93 NYE Easygroove mix, this time the first track in the mix. This record, along with Ten44/Raw, is one of the most in-demand and pricey records on the Awesome Records label (which I believe was run by Slipmatt + Lime), and when I finally scored this for a reasonable price, it was only because I neglected to read the item description and notice that the seller said it was seriously warped to the point of being unplayable. Obviously I was gutted when I got it in the mail and tried to play it, only to have my needle dance all over the record thanks to the giant bump in it. I promptly stuck it in my “sell” pile and chalked this purchase up to experience 🙁
Fast forward a year or two… I rediscover this record while cleaning out my “sell” pile and, just for the hell of it, try to play it again. To my utter shock, it actually plays now, thanks to being crammed in totally flat with all the other records in my “sell” pile. So, here’s my once-heavily-warped, now still warped but playable copy of “Madness”:
Edit: Since this is now for sale/reissued through sublogic, I’m taking down the “Download” link. Go buy it from Sublogic!

  1. Yeah.. remember having this one when it was released.. Bought it from Mo’s Music Machine and after actually hearing it, I ordered 2 more copies next week.. 😉
It’s very effective tune and when played, there’s the “Raise your hands in The air!”-effect when the piano breakdown comes.. Excellent tune!

  2. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any points for newbie blog writers? I’d really appreciate
    it..
