Dave Charlesworth – Energizer 4

Sampling more tracks than you could shake an anthem covered stick with, this high energy bootleg from Dave Charlesworth from After Dark Records, Orbital, and producer of many classics such as “Edge Of Darkness – Come Together” one of my favorite 1992 records that i own.

here is a small list of tracks sampled on energizer 4

Let me be your fantasy,
trip II the moon,
the horn track,
Shine On
living in a fantasy.
Edge Of Darkness – Come Together

I Have no idea where he got the sampling time from in 1992 (it was pretty normal only to have 10 seconds on an akai) to achive this record, but as far as cheese goes this has to be one of the best mashups ever.

  1. Cool never heard this one… I’ve only got Energizer #3. I think #2 is considered the best and most in-demand, but this one is fun too.

Other tracks I hear in this remix:
Desired State – Dance The Dream
New Decade – Get the Message
    The Moog – Jungle Muffin
Citadel of Kaos – Ronnie’s Revenge

  2. “I Have no idea where he got the sampling time from in 1992 ”

hmm, there seems to be points where all or most of the loops and samples change at once, for example at 2.16 and 3.30. propably built the track in smaller segments and then used a 4track or reel-to-reel-editing to stitch it together..

    good track! and great blog!

  3. yah it was multitracked in the same manor as the bits and pieces bootlegs that were comming out of new york. with a multi track machine and a clean edit block you can do amazing things!

  4. he is a real unsung hero. some of those after dark records are real tear-jerkers.

Universe #1 is the first thing i would pull out of my house in a fire.

  5. Yeah, he’s one of my favorite producers for sure. The After Dark, Universe, Paradise Records, etc. stuff is so quality. I have almost all of the After Darks + Paradise Records ones, still haven’t nabbed any of the Universe Records tracks though. I posted one of the great under-appreciated time travel tracks here:

  6. This is the only Energizer I have in my 12″ collection, and yet, the best one,too.. Just my opinion.. Sold the others years ago.. 😉

  7. Can anyone help me out in ID’ing tunes in two of the energizer series:

    1. Energizer 2 Side B – Intro (15 seconds in)…..think this track is on Side A as well.

    2. Energizer 3 Side B – 3.48- 4.28 – woman vocals ‘can you feel it…can you feel it’

    Thanks in advance.

  8. awesome!! can’t wait to buy em, especially the rare ones I don’t have on vinyl like ADR013 etc
