Mad Dog – Secret Garden

So about this track: it’s a 1993 dark/mellow amen one, produced by Mad Dog a.k.a Shaun O’ Hara and Dave Wallace, who went on to become a member of famous trio Aquasky. But before that, him and Shaun were putting out tunes like My God, Fugitive (under the Fugitive alias), Rumbled, Control International and many other cracking tunes on cult label Underdog. It makes great use of sampling (taking from both Art Of Noise & Gat Decor tunes), it has wicked arrangement and patterns and it manages to nail that fine balance of ruff with the smooth without corrupting either side.

I played the other side of this tune (Relapse) in a darkcore mix
I did for the radio show of this fine blog, in fact.
