French Jungle Documentary

Don’t think I’ve ever seen this before… in French but since it’s filmed in the UK most of the dialogue is spoken in English with subtitles.

  1. They doc makers really let the promoters talk about the political and social angle of the scene.

I don’t recall the UK docs of the same vintage as featuring that much.

  2. Hi there, it’s my first post here. So first of all I want to say thanks a lot for this great great blog. Massive thanks to PeteDevnull!

I saw this documentary on TV back in 1994. The whole concept of this program was choosing a subject (here the london jungle scene), choose a bunch of people and follow them during 24 hours. That’s for the title.
As far as I know, the french comments of this documentary are pretty accurate.
The only doubt I have is about the dresss code. They tell that there was a dress code at the jungle parties. Girls had to wear sexy clothes while guys had to wear branded clohings.
But at least, it doesn’t tell nonsenses such as “most of the jungle tunes are made with a sample, like the TR 808 for example”.

When I saw it, I was already hooked to drum’n’bass, that I’ve discovered in the UK a few months before that. Unfortunately french ravers never been really interested in Jungle music. Here it’s all about Techno or House.

BTW, could someone tell which tune Dj Rap is mixing @ 18:20 ??
    Because I love it 🙂

  3. Hey, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility
issues. When I look at your blog site in Opera, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer,
it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a
quick heads up! Other then that, superb blog!
