Looks like I haven’t posted any 91 gems in a bit, so here you go. It’s hard to overstate the importance of Ron Wells in early hardcore/jungle… as the engineer and producer for Basement Records’ hardcore-era releases, he was the driving force behind the distinctive “basement sound” that still holds up incredibly well to this day. Here we have an earlier release by him on his Sound Entity imprint – a bit simpler than the tracks on Hedgehog Affair Part 2, but still excellent tunes that highlight the slightly earlier hardcore sound so present in 1991 – chunky, well produced tracks without as much of the changeups and break acrobatics which started to work their way in 92 through 94.
