Here’s an unreleased Diplomat tune from 1993 that’s been stuck in my head lately…. total amiga madness!! In spite of the low-fi nature of the video stream/rip (and probably the track itself) , it’s a REALLY well sequenced tune, and sounds like a lot of care went into writing it… probably more so than in plenty of other hardcore/jungle tracks which actually made it to vinyl in 93.
Over the tune’s 7.5 minutes, you get diva vox, rave pianos, crazy hoovers, and vocoded vocal snippets which gradually turn more melodic until the song shifts underneath them into full-on bouncy early happy hardcore. Diplomat doesn’t even remember ever ripping this tune to mp3, and said it never made it to dub, he just has it on cassette somewhere. Somehow though a 128kb mp3 ended up on Soulseek some years ago and someone was nice enough to up it to youtube.
update 12/19/2010:The original youtube poster noticed the link to his video and was nice enough to send over his copy of the tune, which I’m posting here… still hoping Diplomat unearths the original amiga disks at some point!

I assumed it was diplomat because it was his style and was listed as diplomat when i downloaded it but since i could not find anything about it on discogs i just put it up as unknown.

I checked with Diplomat some time ago and it’s indeed by him, something he wrote back in 1993 but which never made it to wax… in fact he was suprised to see it since he has no memory of ripping it, he only has a copy on cassette stashed away somewhere and never cut a dub of it for anyone.
