Here’s a less appreciated yet nonetheless firing tune by Aphrodite. For me, “full effect” sits in the middle ground between hardcore and jungle… like all of Aphrodite’s early tunes, it has distinctive Amiga sounding low fi production. That grittyness lends itself to seeming like a 92 hardcore tune, but the track components themselves are restrained and a bit more akin to 94 jungle – massive booming sub-bass throughout, breaks which roll along nicely, not as many abrupt changeups, and a pleasant piano line which, while not out of place in hardcore is a bit more, err, “dreamy” than euphoric sounding. The result took a little while to grow on me but is now one of my favorite tunes by Aphrodite \/ Urban Shakwdown.<\/p>\n
