This tune will probably ring a few bells. Even if the name doesn’t look familiar, it’s been on a couple of big jungle comps over the years, including several on major labels . “Kan U Feel It” actually started out on a release by Dancemaster, one member of Skool of Hard Knocks (though it had engineering credits for the other main member). On that EP, it was actually a B side to the tune “Don’t U Feel It” , another wicked track I’ll probably post here some day. “Kan U Feel It” 93 had the main hook samples already in place :”can you feel it” from Cheryl Lynn “Encore” combined with the guitar sample from The JB’s “Giving Up Food For Funk” (thanks to a reader for spotting these, I was drawing a blank). However, the drums were pretty skittery and choppy, definitely cool sounding but not the most hard-hitting. Hence, the 94 version kept the main hook but punched up the drums quite a bit.
