Here’s a nice slice of 93 proto-happy hardcore\/jungle. Nothing particularly adventurous or experimental here, just Dionne Warwick’s “Say a Little Prayer” combined with choppy amens, pitch shifted breaks and even a little ragga. DJ Pooch did a few good early hardcore\/jungle singles, including one on Lucky Spin that’s definitely worth checking out. He went on to do a lot of happy hardcore from its inception until about 98 or so when that style started to go pear shaped.
