Nick Power and DJ Ku – Mus Get Dark

Here’s a less obscure tune which should be familiar to almost anyone who’s listened to their share of 1992 mixes. The absolutely massive “mus get dark” track by Nick Power and DJ Ku. I have to admit, I wasn’t totaly sold on this one the first n years I heard it in mixes… as solid as the rest of the music was, that “zoo zoo wa” vocal was just a bit too silly sounding for me!! But it’s a 92 tune, so getting mad at it for a bit of sillyness is kind of missing the point (though some tunes clearly took that a bit too far). In the end the breakdown into pitched breaks after the Outlander “Vamp” piano stab part won me over, or maybe it’s just my theory that you’ll eventually find a way to tolerate if not enjoy any tune you hear in mixes for a decade and a half…

  1. like I said, may take a while… for me it’s all about that pitched up break part at 0:39.

  2. I am really enjoying the theme/design of your website.
Do you ever run into any browser compatibility issues?
A small number of my blog audience have complained about my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Safari.

Do you have any solutions to help fix this problem?

  3. I used to work in music power for a little bit, I got interviewed by nick for work experience [I stayed on after and helped for a while]. Which was more of a piss take, as before that he’s only seen me as a school kid coming in for wallpaper [flyers] and when I used to ask for a record he would turn all the music off, and I would sing the vocals or hum the notes, as I never knew the names. He would get me to repeat it over and over, knowing full well he didn’t have it lol.

Anyways any track like this which is before time stretch, if you play fun vdj you can lower the pitch by 4 keys, and just apply to vocals
