Here’s an interesting tune I got sent as a bonus record for a big record order a couple years back. The person selling to me knew I ran the blog, and offered to chuck in a few cheap obscurities for posting on the blog. Only thing was, I wasn’t too excited when I actually heard the 2 bonus records… even if a lot of the obscurities I post don’t sound that great to non oldskool nerds, I do really like everything I post here, and try to avoid the trap of posting loads of “obscure-for-the-sake-of-obscure” tunes which actually sound kinda weak. Still, this EP has grown on me a little bit, and I still feel bad for taking records from someone and then not actually doing the post. So, here you go – the first record on Deceptive Recordings, a small label whose second EP (engineered by these two) is far superior to this in my opinion, and which was in My beantown boogiedown mix. Not super exciting but loads of tracks on this EP, and a lot of samples in this track, so maybe something that will resonate with some of you.
